Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side breathed fresh life into their hopes of finishing in the Premier League top four on Thursday night with a 4-2 victory over Manchester United.
Despite taking the lead, the Old Trafford side were ultimately overcome by their visitors and were forced to accept back-to-back defeats in the English top flight.

Manchester United may have thought their opening goal put them in a good position to win the game but along came Roberto Firmino and at times it seemed as though he was on a one-man mission to pick up all three points for Liverpool.
The Brazil international first popped up on the cusp of half time when he got on the end of a Trent Alexander-Arnold cross to head the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-1.
Then, shortly after the break, the forward struck again when he got on the end of a loose ball to rifle the rebound into the back of the net.

England
He perhaps hasn’t enjoyed the best of seasons - that much is obvious from Gareth Southgate’s recent England squads - but Alexander-Arnold looked like his old self at Old Trafford on Thursday.
In typical fashion, the right-back bombed up and down the pitch with speed and precision, as he routinely unlocked a Man Utd defence that sorely missed the aerial superiority of Harry Maguire and ultimately picked up an assist for his troubles.

Portugal
Although he was ultimately on the losing side, it was another night in which the world played witness to some outstanding football from Bruno Fernandes.
The Portugal international has quickly become Man Utd's talisman this season and that was perfectly evident through the manner in which the No.10 opened the scoring for the home side 10 minutes into the match.
Did it take a huge deflection off of Nathaniel Phillips? Perhaps. But the midfielder won't mind.
