About Challenger Pro League

Founded in 2008, the Ukrainian Premier League is top division of Ukrainian football. It contains 12 teams. The season runs from July to June with a three-month winter break in the middle, and teams play each other both home and away to fulfil a total of 22 games before the league is split in two, two – the championship round and the relegation round. Thereafter, the teams within the respective groups play each other home and away once again. The Premier League has promotion and relegation linked to the Ukrainian First League, the second tier. Two teams are relegated from the Premier League, and two teams are promoted from the First League, each season. Thirty-seven different clubs have competed since its inception (including the Vyshcha Liha from 1991-2007), with Dynamo Kyiv winning the most titles (15). The competition's all-time leading goalscorer is Sergey Rebrov (123 goals).
