Uruguay is the smallest nation ever to win the World Cup, and the sixth smallest nation to even compete in the tournament. They are even more dominant in their home continent than on the world stage, and hold the record for the most Copa Americas won with 15, with their latest triumph coming in 2011 under the tutelage of Oscar Tabarez. That victory launched a new generation of stars for Uruguay, with Edinson Cavani, Diego Forlan, and Luis Suarez combining to form a devastating strikeforce. Domestically, Penarol are the most dominant club team and have won over 50 titles.
