Seattle Sounders are an Amercan soccer club who feature in Major League Soccer’s Western Conference. They have won the MLS Cup and Supporters’ Shield on one occasion each, as well as the US Open Cup four times. Seattle Sounders, also known as the Sounders, have established rivalries with Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps, with whom they contest the Cascadia Cup. Their most famous and celebrated players are Osvaldo Alonso, Clint Dempsey, Brad Evans, Stefan Frei, Kasey Keller, Nicolas Lodeiro, Obafemi Martins, and Fredy Montero. Their first and longest serving head coach is Sigi Schmid. Their home since being established has been the CenturyLink Field, which has a capacity of nearly 38,000 spectators for soccer fixtures.
