Manchester City travel to Brentford top of the Premier League table, knowing a win will strengthen their stronghold in first place.

Pep Guardiola's men are currently on a nine-game winning streak in the English top flight, and have wrestled control from Chelsea and Liverpool over the busy Christmas period.

They face 14th place Brentford with a fairly clean bill of health, although John Stones, Rodri, and Kyle Walker will all miss out due to injury issues.

Ferran Torres also won't be involved after completing his move to Barcelona.

Guardiola is likely to use the game as a chance to rest several stars who have been overworked recently, and utilise his impressively bloated squad.

Ederson will once again be in goal, looking to extend his lead at the top of the clean sheet standings for the season. In front of him will be a back four of Joao Cancelo, Nathan Ake, Aymeric Laporte, and Oleksandr Zinchenko, with Guardiola likely to give Ruben Dias the day off.

Fernandinho will fill in for Rodri once again, with Ilkay Gundogan, and Phil Foden next to him. Kevin de Bruyne could well be saved for the trip to Arsenal on New Years Day.

Jack Grealish will play off the left, Cole Palmer may be given a chance off the right, while Gabriel Jesus will lead the line, looking to add to his two league goals this season.
