About FIFA Confederations Cup

Founded in 1992, the FIFA Confederations Cup is an international football tournament. Competitions take place every four years and it usually serves as a precursor for the next FIFA World Cup. The winners of each of the respective continental tournaments around the world from the previous couple of years gain automatic entry, while the hosts of the World Cup and a few invitees take part. The tournament proper sees the nations compete in a group stage which is followed by knockout rounds until the final. Thirty-three different countries have competed since its inception, with Brazil winning the most titles (4). The competition’s all-time leading goalscorers are Cuauhtemoc Blanco and Ronaldinho (9 goals).
