Busquets back - How Spain could line up against Slovakia

Following a positive coronavirus test, Sergio Busquets has missed Spain's first two matches of Euro 2020 but is now available for selection

Spain head coach Luis Enrique will finally be able to call upon the veteran midfielder Sergio Busquets for the first time in the European Championship when La Roja face Slovakia in Group E.

Before Euro 2020 even started, Spain's preparations were thrown into turmoil when Busquets tested positive for Covid and was forced into isolation, which left many other members of the squad sweating over their own availability.

On the pitch, things have been fairly dire so far, as Spain may be breaking possession and passing records, but that isn't translating into wins.

So far, they have drawn 0-0 with Sweden and then 1-1 with Poland.

In the last match against the Poles, they took the lead through Alvaro Morata only to be pegged by a Robert Lewandowski goal.

Gerard Moreno would then miss a penalty to make it 2-1.

Spain need a victory here to guarantee progression to the next round.

The back four should remain from the Poland game even if Unai Simon wasn't particularly impressive. He'll be behind Marcos Llorente who has been filling in at right-back and Aymeric Laporte, Pau Torres and Jordi Alba.

It is in midfield where Spain have plenty of options.

Should Busquets come in it will likely be at the expense of Rodri, who is one yellow card away from a suspension also.

Neither Koke nor Pedri lit up the match either and Enrique has the likes of Thiago, Fabian Ruiz waiting in the wings for a chance.

Koke may drop out, possibly with Thiago given an opportunity from the start.

Moreno should be given another starting berth despite his missed penalty against Poland as he is, by far, Spain's most prolific forward from over the past year for his club.
