Germany are favourites to continue their unbeaten start to the 2024/25 Nations League when they face Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday.

Julian Nagelsmann's side currently top Group A3, with the Netherlands and Hungary the other teams in the standings.

Match Preview

Bosnia and Herzegovina Recent Form

Bosnia and Herzegovina are on a wretched run in competitive action as they have failed to win in six matches across the Nations League and qualification for the Euros.

Things have improved slightly in the 2024/25 edition as they did earn a point against Hungary last time out.

In June, they played two friendlies against Italy and England lost both.

Bosnia and Herzegovina Injury News

The status of defender Amar Dedic has caused some drama this week as RB Salzburg made the decision to withdraw his availability due to injury. This angered new Bosnia and Herzegovina head coach Sergej Barbarez who insisted that injury diagnosis for players would be made by the national team staff and not club staff.

Goalkeepers: Vasilj, Hadzikic, Zlomislic

Defenders: Kolasinac, Radeljic, Barisic, Katic, Bicakcic, Mujakic, Gazibegovic, Dedic (withdrawn)

Midfielders: Gigovic, Tahirovic, Basic, Hajradinovic, Burnic, Huseinbasic, Dakovac, Saric, Bajraktarevic

Germany Recent Form

Tournament hosts Germany were one of the favourites to win the European Championships in the summer but were left disappointed after Spain eliminated them at the quarter-final stage following extra-time.

The returned to competitive action with the Nations League in September and emphatically beat Hungary 5-0, though they drew their next match 2-2 against the Netherlands.

Germany Injury News

This week two key German players have withdrawn from the squad as Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala won't be available due to knee and hip injuries respectively. They've been replaced by Jonathan Burkhardt and the uncapped Jamie Leweling.

There are six uncapped players in Nagelsmann's 23-man squad - Burkhardt, Leweling, Tim Kleindienst, Alexander Nubel, Oliver Baumann and Janis Blaswich.

Serge Gnabry returns to the German squad for the first time in nearly a year.

Bosnia and Herzegovina - Player To Watch

Talismanic striker Edin Dzeko is his country's all-time leading goalscorer and has already found the back of the net in the 2024/25 Nations League, albeit in a loss against the Netherlands.

Germany - Player To Watch

The centre-forward position has been a troublesome one for Germany for a while now but they might have found a new main man in the form of Denis Undav, who recorded a goal and an assist in the 2-2 draw with the Netherlands last time out.

Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Germany - Prediction

There is an experimental feel to Nagelsmann's squad due to a few key absences, but the Germans should still have more than enough to put the home side to the sword here, as Bosnia and Herzegovina haven't tasted victory in a year.

Scoreline prediction - Bosnia and Herzegovina 1-3 Germany
