About Süper Lig

Founded in 1959, the Turkish Super Lig is the top division of Turkish football. It contains 18 teams. The season runs from August to May, and teams play each other both home and away to fulfil a total of 34 games. The Super Lig has promotion and relegation linked to the TFF First League, the second tier. Three teams are relegated from the Super Lig, and three teams are promoted from the TFF First League, each season.
