Atletico Madrid are just a couple of games from winning La Liga for the first time in seven years. The trouble is, both Real Madrid and Barcelona are hot on their tails.
Drawing 0-0 at Barcelona on Saturday could have allowed Real Madrid the chance to go top of the table on Sunday, but they failed to beat Sevilla.
Now Atleti meet Real Sociedad at the Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday night.
Unfortunately for Diego Simeone, he will be unable to call upon Thomas Lemar, who was forced off early at Camp Nou with an ankle injury.
Simeone is not short of attacking options, though. Joao Felix is likely to come in and replace him alongside Luis Suarez and Angel Correa, with the Portuguese being deployed in the number 10 role.
Suarez, who has 19 league goals to his name this season, will be looking to break a four-game run without a goal.
Marcos Llorente, another one of Atleti’s chief goal threats is set to continue in midfield. Belgian winger Yannick Carrasco is also set to retain his place at left wing-back.
Renan Lodi and Jose Gimenez were both unused substitutes on Saturday and they are unlikely to return to the starting line up here after the clean sheet earned against Barcelona.
Kieran Trippier is likely to continue at right wing-back, with Stefan Savic, Mario Hermoso and Felipe making up the back three.
They will start in front of Jan Oblak, who is looking to record his fifth clean sheet in six games.
