Nacho was the unlikely hero as he scored a vital winner against Athletic Bilbao that keeps Real Madrid's title hopes alive.
With Barcelona losing at home to Osasuna, it is now a direct battle on the final matchday between Real Madrid and league leaders Atletico Madrid for La Liga.
So which players stood out most in Bilbao?
The Croatian may be 35 now but as he showed once again against Athletic, he remains one of the best central midfielders on the planet.
Modric controlled the game as always in the middle of the park and touched the ball more than anyone else - completing 82 of his 87 passes.
It was his quick thinking from a short corner that led to Nacho's crucial goal.
He was perfectly placed at the far post to turn home as Casemiro crossed the ball across the six yard box. It was his first goal of the season and only his second in the last three years.
Nacho was also solid at the back as Athletic created very little throughout the match, making more clearances than any of his teammates.
He almost broke the deadlock when he crashed a header against the woodwork early in the second half.
And then the Brazilian provided the perfect assist for Nacho with only 22 minutes remaining. He has an impressive seven goals and five assists this season.
As always, Casemiro protected the Real Madrid back-four well and he had a game-high 10 ball recoveries.
