Newcastle are hoping to get back to winning ways this weekend when they face Brighton at St. James' Park.

The Magpies are currently in seventh in the table, while Brighton are just one position above in sixth, so there is a lot riding on this one.

Match Preview

Newcastle Recent Form

Newcastle are without a win in three Premier League games. Over the last month they have lost 3-1 against Newcastle, drawn 1-1 with Man City and drawn 0-0 versus Everton.

They progressed in the League Cup but were uninspiring in a 1-0 defeat of Wimbledon.

Newcastle Injury News

Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles are long-term absentees due to serious knee injuries, but the latter is reportedly back in training.

Kieran Trippier and Lewis Miley are out, while Alexander Isak, Callum Wilson, Martin Dubravka and Matt Targett are doubts.

Here's how Newcastle lined up against Everton.

Brighton Recent Form

Brighton have won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five games in all competitions.

Last time out in the Premier League, they came from two goals down to beat Tottenham 3-2, but prior to that they drew 2-2 against Nottingham Forest and lost 4-2 against Chelsea.

Brighton Injury News

Adam Webster was injured in the Spurs victory and he joins James Milner, Joao Pedro and Matt O'Riley on the physio's table.

Julio Enciso and Pervis Estupinan were in South America over the international break so they may be benched after arriving home later than their team-mates.

Last Brighton Lineup

Here's how Brighton lined up against Tottenham.

Newcastle - Player To Watch

With Isak and Wilson not fully fit, the attacking pressure will again be thrust upon Anthony Gordon in the final third, though Eddie Howe needs to get him in his best position down the left.

Danny Welbeck scored the all-important winner against Spurs a couple of weeks ago and that took his tally to four for the season. His form continues to keep wonderkid Evan Ferguson on the bench.
