Manchester United’s stuttering end to the season rumbled on against Fulham on Tuesday night when an Old Trafford crowd were left disappointed after watching their side draw 1-1 with their relegated guests.
With just 13 days to go until the Europa League final Ole Gunnar Solskjaer played a full-strength squad but would have undoubtedly been left worried by his side struggling to secure a win for the fourth time in their last five games.
In a match that offered very little for either side to play for, Cavani got the fans off their seats with a remarkable goal in the 15th minute, when a flick on from Bruno Fernandes played the striker through on goal.
However, instead of rushing through to tap the ball by the goalkeeper, Cavani shot from 40 yards out and with remarkable skill lofted the ball over Alphonse Areola in goal.
Despite Man Utd taking the lead in the first half, Fulham put their hosts under a huge amount of pressure in the second period and were able to strike in the 76th minute when Bobby Reid darted by Luke Shaw to swing the ball into the back post.
Perhaps unexpectedly, Bryan was rushing towards the far post at that point and happily obliged his team mate by heading the ball into the back of the net without a marker in sight.
Despite bagging four assists in April, the midfielder has now gone six games without picking up a single assist for Man Utd and will undoubtedly need to pick up his form if he and the club are going to win the forthcoming Europa League final.
