Two sides desperate for a win do battle in a London derby on Saturday as Brentford host West Ham.

Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui is already under massive pressure despite being in charge for just seven games and things reached another low during the week as they were emphatically eliminated from the League Cup by Liverpool.

Match Preview

Brentford Recent Form

Brentford have won just two out of their opening five Premier League games. They've defeated Crystal Palace and Southampton, but lost versus Liverpool, Man City and Tottenham.

They progressed in the League Cup, though, following a 3-1 home win against Leyton Orient.

Brentford Injury News

Brentford's plight this season hasn't been helped by a raft of injuries. At the moment, Josh DaSilva and Yoane Wissa are out until November, while Igor Thiago is out until next year.

There is no sign of a return of Aaron Hickey who hasn't played this season due to a thigh problem.

Gustavo Nunes and Mathias Jensen should return in October.

On a more positive note, Christian Norgaard should be passed fit.

West Ham Recent Form

West Ham's sole Premier League victory came in the second game of the campaign when they won 2-0 away at Crystal Palace.

In their other four matches, they have drawn with Fulham and lost against Aston Villa, Man City and Chelsea.

On Wednesday, they were demolished 5-1 by Liverpool at Anfield and knocked out of the League Cup.

West Ham Injury News

Niclas Fullkrug hasn't played since the international break with Germany due to a calf problem, but there are hopes he could be passed fit for this one.

Edson Alvarez is suspended following his dismissal against Liverpool after receiving two yellow cards.

West Ham - Player To Watch

Without yet hitting the heights of his performances last season, Jarrod Bowen has two goal contributions in five games so far for the Hammers. The club will hope he can find that form again - and inspire some of his team-mates to find their own.

Brentford vs West Ham - Prediction

A large determining factor in the outcome of this game will be whether the West Ham players are fully behind Lopetegui. Brentford have been poor recently and the Hammers could use this game as an opportunity to kickstart their campaign, but the players will need to put in plenty of effort. The 5-1 result against Liverpool suggests that the effort hasn't been completely there...
