About Lyon

Olympique Lyonnais are a French football club who feature in the French Ligue 1. They are one of the most successful clubs in France, having won their domestic title seven times and the Coupe de France on five occasions. All of their league victories came consecutively over seven seasons from 2002 onwards. Lyon, also known as the Gones, have an established rivalry with Saint-Etienne. Historically, their most famous and celebrated players are Alexandre Lacazette, Michael Essien, Juninho Pernambucano, Florent Malouda, Hugo Lloris, Karim Benzema, Mahamadou Diarra, and Sidney Govou. Over Lyon’s stretch of winning league titles, they surprisingly had four different head coaches. Their home since 2016 has been the Parc Olympique Lyonnais, which has a capacity of nearly 60,000 spectators.
