Barcelona were made to work extremely hard to overcome Dynamo Kiev in their 2-1 victory over the Ukrainians at Camp Nou.
Which Barcelona players made the difference on the night?
✔️ GOOD PERFORMANCE
Marc-Andre Ter Stegen - 8.2:
It says much about the fixture that the German was in inspired form. He made a superb block from a close-range header in the first half, then in the second denied Dynamo with two superb one-on-one blocks. Had it not been for him, Barca would have lost, and on his comeback from injury too.
The 18-year-old continues to produce excellent performances from his position on the flank, and he did so here again. He was unfortunate not to score in the first half after a mazy run, and then it was his cross that allowed Gerard Pique to net what proved to be the winner. He completed four dribbles and had an immense 16 touches inside the opposition area.
Even on an evening where he didn't completely shine, Messi still does more than most, and here his first-half penalty helped to settle things down before he went close on three more occasions, including from a spectacular free-kick which was saved. He hit six shots, with four on target. But he still hasn't scored from open play this season.
❌ BAD PERFORMANCE
It was another night when the Frenchman simply didn't get involved in the action. He managed just 22 touches in 61 minutes before he was, once again, replaced by Ronald Koeman. It continues to be a worry for the Dutch coach.
⭐ DYNAMO KIEV STAR MAN
Neshcheret is just 18 and playing in his second senior game, but he was absolutely outstanding. He made two wonderful saves from Messi including a stunning hard to a free-kick that was headed for the top corner. He can be extremely proud of his display.
