The New York Red Bulls will host Charlotte FC at the Red Bull Arena in an exciting Major League Soccer (MLS) clash on Wednesday.

The match is set to be a compelling encounter, with both teams aiming to secure crucial points in their respective campaigns.

New York Red Bulls Form

The New York Red Bulls have had a strong season, particularly at home. They are one of just three MLS sides that remain unbeaten on home turf this season.

However, their recent form has seen some fluctuations. After a commendable 4-2 victory against the New England Revolution, they followed up with a 4-1 thrashing of DC United.

Unfortunately, their three-match unbeaten run in the Hudson River Derby ended with a narrow 2-1 loss to New York City FC.

Charlotte FC Form

Charlotte FC comes into this match with a mixed bag of results.

They recently played out a goalless draw with Philadelphia Union, marking their second consecutive draw this season.

Prior to this, they enjoyed a three-match winning streak, with victories over Portland Timbers, Nashville, and Chicago Fire.

However, Charlotte has struggled on the road this season, winning only one of their six away games.

Team News

New York Red Bulls

The Red Bulls will be missing key defender Sean Nealis, who is suspended after receiving a red card in the derby.

Colombian defender Andres Reyes is expected to step in. Injuries also plague the team, with Ronald Donkor (hip), Peter Stroud (ankle), and Roald Mitchell (knee) sidelined.

Charlotte FC

Charlotte FC will be without Junior Urso and Jere Uronen due to thigh injuries. American midfielder Brandon Cambridge remains out with a severe injury sustained last October.

Predicted Lineups

New York Red Bulls

Goalkeeper: Coronel

Defenders: Duncan, Reyes, Eile, Tolkin

Midfielders: Harper, Amaya, Edelman, Morgan

Forwards: Vanzeir, Manoel

Charlotte FC

Prediction

The previous encounters between these teams have been high-scoring affairs, with the last six meetings producing 21 goals.

Given New York Red Bulls' formidable home record and Charlotte FC's struggles on the road, the Red Bulls are favoured to come out on top.

Our Prediction: New York Red Bulls 3-1 Charlotte FC
