Manchester City continued their inevitable march to the Premier League title with a 2-0 win over Leicester at the King Power Stadium.

Benjamin Mendy was the unlikely scorer of the opening goal, which was added to by Gabriel Jesus quarter of an hour from time.

It was a dominant performance from Pep Guardiola’s side, who ground down their opponents to get the win.

Benjamin Mendy: 7.6

Given Benjamin Mendy was not away on international duty, he was handed a rare opportunity in the left-back slot, and the former Monaco man did not disappoint.

He may have frustrated Pep Guardiola at times during his stay at City, but he would have delighted the Catalan with a fine finish to break the deadlock, after which the outcome of this match looked inevitable.

❌ Sergio Aguero: 5.9

After announcing that Aguero is to leave the club in the summer, the first leg of the legendary Argentine’s farewell tour started sluggishly.

Aguero was rarely able to exert any influence on the match and he was replaced with half an hour to go.

He still counts a penalty against Fulham as his sole Premier League strike this season.

Gabriel Jesus: 7.9

Was Pep Guardiola saying on Friday that Man City cannot afford Erling Haaland just a bluff? If the manager was speaking the truth, it is upon Jesus that much of the club’s scoring burden will be placed next season.

In this lively display, where he started further on the left than he is accustomed, he gave a promising account of himself and then added a second with a close-range finish after linking up with substitute Raheem Sterling.
