Mikel Arteta is expecting a "really busy" final week of the transfer window for clubs in the Premier League, including Arsenal.

The Spaniard has already brought in Willian from Chelsea on a free transfer as well as Gabriel from Lille for £24m, but hasn't hidden his desire for more reinforcements, particularly in central midfield.

They continue to be linked with Thomas Partey of Atletico Madrid and Houssem Aouar of Lyon, with them recently having a £34m bid for the latter turned down by the Ligue 1 side.

When asked about transfer news following Arsenal's 3-1 loss versus Liverpool, Arteta didn't have any new information to provide, but assured of a busy final week of the window.

"We don't have any news on new players and either with players that might leave the football club," the Gunners boss said.

"It's a week to go, I think it's going to be really busy for other clubs because not much business has been done.

"Let's see what happens.

"I think it will be busy for the Premier League. Busy for us, I don't know how it is going to happen."

Arsenal and Lyon are currently some distance apart in their valuation of Aouar, with Lyon president Michel Aulas describing their most recent offer as "timid" and not worthy of a French international.
