    About Marcelo

    Who is Marcelo?

Marcelo is 36-years-old, born on 12 May 1988, and is a left-footed professional football player from Brazil. Born in Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Marcelo has also played in Greek Cup for Olympiakós and in Supercopa de España for Real Madrid.

Marcelo is not a defender known for his defending but he is unquestionably one of the most valuable and effective attacking full-backs in the game today. He has been at Real Madrid for well over a decade now and no player has ever came close to usurping him in the position. He formed a formidable left-wing partnership with Ronaldo and his superb touch and skill means he could easily have featured as a left-winger in his career. At Madrid he has collected four Champions League titles and perhaps the only disappointment in his career has been at international level; despite featuring in three World Cups for Brazil, including in 2014 on home soil, he hasn't progressed beyond the semi-final stage. But as he moves into his 30s, his position in the last three Champions League teams of the season suggests he may still be getting better. He currently plays as a Defender (Left) in Série A for club Fluminense.
