Lionel Messi is in line to make his Paris Saint-Germain debut when Mauricio Pochettino takes his side to face Reims in Ligue 1 on Sunday.
Tickets for the fixture are exchanging at up to €6,000 for the match, with Reims having previously stated that fans are jetting in from China, Thailand and India in anticipation of watching Messi make his bow for his new club.
It is not, however, clear if Messi will start the game, although it has been confirmed that he is looking sharp in training, suggesting that he will feature for at least some of the encounter.
REVEALED: The most valuable players in the world
There is also uncertainty over Kylian Mbappe, whose potential move to Real Madrid has completely overshadowed this week from PSG’s perspective. Los Blancos have now made two bids for the World Cup winner only to be rebuffed on both occasions.
With such a question mark hanging over his head, it would not be too great a surprise to see him left on the bench for the trip, although it would clearly be entertaining to see him, Neymar and Messi all on the field at the same time.
Indeed, it is expected that Neymar will return to the squad for this match. Like Messi, he has not featured this season because of his late return from the Copa America.
Could all three feature from the start? It is possible, especially as Mauro Icardi is set to miss out until mid-September with a shoulder problem.
Marco Verratti should play in the midfield, where Gini Wijnaldum struggled at the point of a diamond last week. He could be moved back a rung for this game, with Idrissa Gueye completing the central trio.
Defence continues to be a source of headaches, with Sergio Ramos and Layvin Kurzawa both missing due to injury. Marquinhos could start for the first time this season.
In goal, meanwhile, the battle between Keylor Navas and Gianluigi Donnarumma will be well and truly underway this weekend. Either could take the spot.
