Genoa are an Italian football club who feature in the Italian Serie A. They are one of the most successful clubs in Italy, having won their domestic league title nine times, and are the first ever professional team to be established in the country. Genoa, also known as the Rossoblu, have an established local rivalry with Sampdoria, with whom they contest the Derby della Lanterna. Historically, their most famous and celebrated players are Vincenzo Torrente, Gianluca Signorini, Marco Rossi, Stefano Eranio, Diego Milito, Cosimo Francioso, Tomas Skuhravy, Gennaro Ruotolo, and Fosco Becattini. Genoa won the majority of their titles under Englishman, James Richardson Spensley. Their home for well over a century has been the Stadio Luigi Ferraris which has a capacity of nearly 37,000 spectators.
