Arsenal will have their sights set on major silverware like the Premier League and Champions League this season, but Mikel Arteta would naturally love to add to his trophy haul as Gunners boss with a triumph in the League Cup.

They'll already probably have an eye on the next round as they are huge favourites to progress against Preston on Wednesday, but will need to be wary of complacency.

Match Preview

Preston Recent Form

Preston are in decent form as they've lost just one out of their last nine matches.

In their last five, they have defeated Watford and Coventry and drawn against Burnley, Norwich and Plymouth in the Championship.

Preston Injury News

Ched Evans, Patrick Bauer, Will Keane and Robbie Brady are out injured for Preston, while Milutin Osmajic is serving an eight-game ban for biting Blackburn defender Owen Beck.

Last Preston Lineup

Here's how Preston lined up against Plymouth.

Arsenal Recent Form

Arsenal's recent form has been mixed as they've dropped Premier League points in two out of their last three games. Two weeks ago they suffered a surprise defeat against Bournemouth and followed that in the league with this past weekend's 2-2 draw versus Arsenal.

Sandwiched in between those was an unconvincing 1-0 home win against Shakhtar in the Champions League.

Arsenal Injury News

Riccardo Calafiori, Martin Odegaard, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney are still out for Arteta, while Jurrien Timber and Gabriel as doubts as they picked up slight issues against Liverpool.

The Spaniard will rotate his side here so expect the likes of Neto, Gabriel Jesus, Jorginho and Raheem Sterling to be given starts.

Last Arsenal Lineup

Here's how Arsenal lined up against Liverpool.

Preston - Player To Watch

Emil Riis Jakobsen has four goal contributions in the Championship this season, more than any of his team-mates.

Arsenal - Player To Watch

Gabriel Jesus has become a periphery figure at Arsenal as Kai Havertz has long been the first-choice centre-forward. The Brazilian still has plenty of quality, though, so should use this match as an opportunity to impress.

Preston vs Arsenal - Prediction

Even with major rotation expected, Arsenal should have too much for Preston with the quality coming into the side.
