England manager Gareth Southgate has plenty of selection issues to ponder ahead of the European Championship quarter-final against Ukraine on Saturday evening.

On Tuesday the Three Lions successfully overcame Germany, in relatively comfortable fashion, with a 2-0 victory at Wembley with Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane grabbing the goals.

He controversially changed to a 3-4-3 formation for that game which didn't receive a universally positive reaction, as England fans believed he was being too pragmatic.

However, it worked a treat against the Germans.

For the match against Ukraine, Southgate must decide if he wants to play slightly more expansive, which could lead to a return to a back four.

Should he make it a four, Jordan Pickford will start in goal in front of Kyle Walker, John Stones, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw.

Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount are available again after completing a period of self-isolation, but it is unlikely the former will oust Luke Shaw from left-back as the Manchester United man was impressive against Germany.

Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips are both on yellow cards and would miss the semi-final should they be booked against Ukraine, so Jordan Henderson might come in to replace one of them in midfield.

If Southgate decides to be more expansive, he may finally release Jack Grealish from the start, with Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling making up the other attacking midfield roles.

Bukayo Saka could be rested for this one.

Talisman Harry Kane will start up top.
