Frank de Boer may opt to give several of his Netherlands players a rest for Monday's Euro 2020 Group C clash against North Macedonia.
This past Thursday the Netherlands successfully secured top spot in Group C after defeating Austria 2-0 thanks to goals from Memphis Depay and Denzel Dumfries.
No matter what happens in the game against North Macedonia or the other final group match between Ukraine and Austria, the Oranje will progress as winners.
Therefore, De Boer has an ideal opportunity to rest players which other some other nations don't have.
One player who is certain to sit out is Marten de Roon who is currently on a yellow card and would be suspended for the knockout stage if he was to collect another booking. So, expect the Atalanta midfielder to sit this one out from the start, with Ajax wonderkid Ryan Gravenberch coming into the starting XI.
In defence, Daley Blind could be rested too with Nathan Ake coming into the left position of the back three alongside Stefan de Vrij and Matthijs de Ligt.
In midfield, AZ Alkmaar midfielder Teun Koopmeiners may make his tournament debut from the start, possibly replacing Frenkie de Jong.
As the captain of the squad, Georginio Wijnaldum might be asked to continue, as the Netherlands aren't blessed with a raft of options in the centre of midfield.
As for the wing-back roles, Joel Veltman and Owen Wijndal could replace Denzel Dumfries and Patrick van Aanholt.
To keep some quality out there, Memphis Depay could start again but will likely have a different partner, with Donyell Malen earning a starting berth after his assist against Austria on Thursday.
