The Netherlands will have to be at their best if they hope to get past the Czech Republic and reach the quarter-finals of Euro 2020.

While Frank de Boer’s side are favourites for the tie, the Dutch manager will be well aware of how his coming foe made short work of Scotland and took a point off Croatia in the group stages.

As such, De Boer is likely to stick with his standard back line, which consists of Maarten Stekelenburg in goals, with a back three of Matthijs de Ligt, Stefan de Vrij and Daley Blind. Patrick van Aanholt will likely take up the role of left wing-back, with the impressive Denzel Dumfries on the right flank.

As we’ve already seen at the tournament this year, the Dutch seem to work best with a midfield trio and De Boer is unlikely to move away from the effective roles developed by Marten de Roon, Frenkie de Jong and Gini Wijnaldum.

While the Dutch manager has experimented with his front line over the last few games, we can probably expect to see Wolfsburg target man Wout Weghorst lead the line, with new Barcelona signing Memphis Depay playing off him.
