About Super League

Founded in 1927, the Superleague Greece is the top division of Greek football. It contains 16 teams. The season runs from August to May, and teams play each other both home and away to fulfil a total of 30 games. The Superleague has promotion and relegation linked to the Greek Football League, the second tier. Two teams are relegated from the Superleague, and two teams are promoted from the Football League, each season. Forty-seven different clubs have competed since its inception, with Olympiacos winning the most titles (44). The competition's all-time leading goalscorer is Thomas Mavros (260 goals).
