Football Manager 2021: Premier League transfer & wage budget

Football Manager 2021 is released this November, with players from around the world set to take the reigns of their favourite teams.

One of the key factors of gameplay over the years in FM21 has been recruitment, whether you want to sign superstars, squad players or wonderkids for the future.

Starting in the summer of 2020, Premier League teams will have transfer and wage budgets available to the user, even if in the new edition of the game they will be smaller than before due to the financial impact of the coronavirus on clubs around Europe.

In the Premier League, here are the starting budgets for all 20 teams:

Out of the Premier League teams in the 2020/21 season, Manchester United have by far the biggest transfer budget with £52m, while they have an extra £344k per week to spend on wages.

Manchester City have the largest available wage budget at £500k per week.

The lowest budgets belong to Leicester, Sheffield Utd, and West Brom, with new managers having to make do with just £1m to start off.

Both the transfer budget and wage budget can be increased or decreased to impact the other.

For example, the user will receive a bigger transfer budget at Man City if they use some of the hefty allocated wage budget.

At the beginning of each new season, the manager is given the proposed transfer budget for the next campaign.

However, this will be impacted throughout the current season by things like player sales, continental qualification or relegation.
