Over Fortuna Liga

Opgericht in 1993, is de Tsjechische Eerste Liga de hoogste divisie van het Tsjechische voetbal. Het bevat 16 teams. Het seizoen loopt van augustus tot mei, en teams spelen zowel thuis als uit tegen elkaar om een totaal van 30 wedstrijden te vervullen. De Eerste Liga heeft promotie en degradatie gekoppeld aan de Tsjechische Nationale Voetbal Liga, het tweede niveau. Elk seizoen degraderen twee teams uit de Eerste Liga, en worden twee teams gepromoveerd uit de Nationale Voetbal Liga. Tweeëndertig verschillende clubs hebben sinds het begin meegedaan, met Sparta Praag die de meeste titels heeft gewonnen (12). De topscorer aller tijden van de competitie is David Lafata (151 goals).
