Bayern Munich won their opening game of the Bundesliga season in emphatic fashion, defeating Wolfsburg 3-2.

Vincent Kompany's men were actually two goals up and allowed Wolfsburg to bring the scoreline back on level terms, but Serge Gnabry popped up in the last 10 minutes to score and secure all three points for Bayern.

Player of the Match

It was Jamal Musiala who kicked off the goalscoring campaign for Bayern as he popped up a few yards out to finish after some terrific work from Sacha Boey.

The German international's contribution to the game was so much more than a simple tap in, though, as he caused all sorts of problems for Wolfsburg, particularly with his driving runs through the middle of the pitch to get Bayern into the final third.

He completed three dribbles, sent 21 passes into the final third and had 76 touches of the ball which was more than any other attacking player in the game.

Worst Player

Sebastiaan Bornauw was torn apart by the vibrant Bayern attack, and Harry Kane actually attached himself to the central defender to earn plenty of joy.

Damningly, he didn't win a single tackle or make a single interception in the game as Bayern flooded forward with relative ease.

Bornauw didn't even flourish with the physical stuff, as he won just a single duel and just 50% of his aerial duels.

A pass completion of 69% isn't great, either.
