Willian is close to leaving Chelsea after rejecting the club’s latest two-year extended contract.

The 31-year-old’s current deal runs out this summer, with him only recently agreeing to stay until the end of the season after it was extended due to the previous league postponement.

In the latest round of talks between the two parties, that Willian wants a three-year deal to stay at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea unwilling to budge on their current offer.

Willian’s agent Kia Joorabchian said last week that his client currently has five offers on the table including two from the Premier League, with Arsenal reportedly being one of the teams interested in bringing him in on a free transfer.

The Gunners are leading the race for his signature as he is reportedly happy and settled living in London.

Frank Lampard has previously stated his desire to keep Willian at the club despite already recruiting major attacking firepower in Hakim Ziyech of Ajax and Timo Werner of RB Leipzig, while Kai Havertz of Leverkusen also remains a target.

With the Premier League now finished, Chelsea have just one game remaining this season against Bayern in the Champions League.

With them losing 3-0 after the first leg and facing a strong prospect of being eliminated after the second leg at the Allianz Arena, it is looking increasingly likely that it could be the last game Willian plays for the FA Cup runners-up.
