Real Madrid kept pace at the top of La Liga on Thursday with a routine 3-0 home victory against Valencia, with Karim Benzema emerging as FC Man of the Match, scoring twice and receiving a perfect 10 score.

It was the former Lyon man who gave Los Blancos the lead with a composed finish into the bottom left corner, while the returning Marco Asensio scored the second with a cracking first-time finish after a cross from Ferland Mendy.

The moment of the match, and one of the moments of the season so far, was yet to come, though, as Benzema would eventually score his second of the day and Madrid's third with a piece of utterly outrageous skill.

Asensio pops the ball into the box from the right wing and Benzema lofts the ball over the head of a defender with his right foot before guiding a left-footed volley high into the top left corner - all with the ball not touching the ground. Incredible.

His performance on the night earned him a perfect 10 rating on FootballCritic.
