Timo Werner had had a slow start to his Chelsea career, but he exploded to life in Saturday's 3-3 draw with Southampton at Stamford Bridge.
But how did Werner perform overall?
📷 Werner: Match Snapshot
The German had been desperate to get off the mark for his new club and managed it in sensational style on 15 minutes.
⚽ ⏱️ 15' Receiving a pass into feet from Ben Chilwell, he dummied his marker and ran in on goal, before moving past two, three, four Southampton defenders to lash into the corner of the net.
⚽ ⏱️ 28' And he was at it again in the 28th minute, running clear of the defence to lift the ball over the goalkeeper and head into the net as Chelsea looked set to run away with the match.
A ⏱️ 59' As it was Southampton stormed back to 2-2 and it was left to Werner to lift things again, sprinting down the right flank to slot the ball across goal to team-mate Kai Havertz, who slotted home easily from close range.
And yet it still proved to be a frustrating day for the forward, with Southampton equalising in the final minute to clinch a point and deny Chelsea the win.
Werner's performance earned him a 9.4 FC Rating.

Werner: What Next?
Now that Werner is up and running we can expect him to add many more goals to his total before the end of the season. What he needs, though, is a consistent cast list of players around him. Frank Lampard has changed things up quite a bit, sometimes through injury, but Werner needs to learn from playing with his team-mates.
