For the opening round of the Scottish Premiership season, there's a potentially tasty clash in store between St Mirren and Hibernian from Paisley.

St Mirren enjoyed a positive campaign in 2023/24, finishing fifth in the top flight, while Hibs had a season to forget, finishing eighth.

St Mirren current form

St Mirren have already played two vital competitive matches this season in Europe.

In the second qualifying phase for the Europa Conference League, they progressed after a 4-1 victory on aggregate after a 0-0 draw away in the first leg.

Hibernian current form

Hibs, meanwhile, have been busy playing in the League Cup Group Stage. It's been a bit of a mixed bag for the capital club as they blew away Elgin City, Queen's Park and Peterhead, only to lose to Kelty Hearts in the second fixture.

St Mirren vs Hibernian Team News

Caolan Boyd-Munce and Mikael Mandron are the only injury concerns for St Mirren.

This summer, St Mirren signed James Scott, Dennis Adeniran, Alex Iacovitti, Jaden Brown, Oisin Smyth, Ellery Balcombe, Roland Idowu and Shaun Rooney

Thody Youan is definitely out for Hibs, while Chris Cadden and Rocky Bushiri are unlikely to make it.

Hibs have signed Marvin Ekpita, Warren O'Hora, Jordan Smith and Josef Bursik.
