In the 2023/24 campaign, Barcelona surrendered their Primera Division crown to arch-rivals Real Madrid, who ended up winning the league in emphatic fashion.

Indeed, in the last few games of the campaign, Barca have been looking over their shoulder at Girona at third rather than bridging any gap to Los Blancos.

As for Sevilla, it has been an extremely disappointing season as they will finish in the bottom half of the table.

Sevilla current form

Sevilla's recent form represents a microcosm of their season as a whole as from 30 March to 5 May, they went unbeaten in five games and won four of those.

However, they have lost each of their last three matches against Villarreal, Cadiz and Athletic Bilbao.

Barcelona current form

The drama for Barcelona recently has mostly come away from the pitch as, at the moment, we still don't know whether Xavi will be in charge this summer. He announced he was leaving, then that he wasn't, but now appears to be leaving again.

They have won four out of their last six games, with the two losses coming against the teams directly above and below them in the table - Real Madrid and Girona.

Sevilla vs Barcelona Team News

Sevilla have been ravaged by injuries recently and things haven't improved much for this fixture as Oliver Torres, Isaac Romero, Djibril Sow, Erik Lamela and Nemanja Gudelj are definitely out, while Jesus Navas, Lucas Ocampos, Marcos Acuna and Suso are major doubts.

As for Barca, there are no fresh injury concerns as the only absentees are Alejandro Balde, Gavi and Frenkie de Jong.
