Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in the last seven minutes to save Andrea Pirlo from an almost certain sacking - and in the process kept Juventus' top-four hopes alive.

On a day when Juve's bitter rivals Inter clinched the Scudetto, the Bianconeri were staring at a disastrous defeat as they trailed to Nahuel Molina's early goal.

Juventus created little throughout the match but Ronaldo came to the rescue in the final stages.

⏱️ 83' Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul inexplicably raised his hand to block Ronaldo's free-kick, leaving the referee no choice but to award a penalty. Cristiano stepped up and buried his spot-kick into the bottom corner to equalise.

⏱️ 89' Ronaldo clinched all three points for Juventus as he headed the ball past Simone Scuffet at the back-post from Adrien Rabiot's left-field cross. This sparked excited scenes on the Juventus bench as Ronaldo ran over to the touchline to celebrate.

〽️ Ronaldo: Rating Week-on-Week

IMPROVEMENT

Ronaldo came into this match having failed to score in three successive games, which included a disappointing 6.2 FC Rating last time out against Fiorentina.

This display was good enough to earn him a 7.8 FC Rating, his best since the 2-2 draw with Torino on April 3 when he scored and had an identical rating.

Ronaldo: What Next?

Juventus are involved in one of the tightest races for Champions League qualification that Serie A has seen in years.

With four games remaining, Atalanta, Juventus and AC Milan are all locked on 69 points in the three final Champions League positions. Meanwhile, Napoli are two points further back in fifth place and Lazio will join them on the same points should they win their game in hand.

A pivotal clash will come next weekend when Juventus host Milan in Turin.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo is on track to finish top-scorer in Serie A this season. His double today takes him to 27 goals for the season, six ahead of the second highest scorer in Romelu Lukaku.
