Rangers' first home game of the Scottish Premiership season actually won't take place at their home as Ibrox is undergoing a makeover.
For the first half of the campaign, they will play their home matches at Hampden and their first on Saturday sees Motherwell travel the short distance from North Lanarkshire.
Rangers current form
Rangers have already played two crucial competitive matches this season so far.
On the opening day of the Scottish Premiership campaign a week ago, they could only manage a 0-0 draw at Tynecastle. Not a terrible result, but they are already playing catch-up with Celtic, who won their opener 3-0 against Kilmarnock.
During the week, Rangers started their European campaign with a commendable 1-1 draw away in Dynamo Kyiv, as they strive to qualify for the Champions League.
Motherwell current form
In the League Cup, Motherwell defeated Edinburgh City, Montrose (pens) and Clyde, while they lost against Partick Thistle on penalties.
There was huge controversy in that Partick game as the Glasgow side requested the fixture be replayed after they were refused the opportunity to bring on sub Ricco Diack due to a faulty system for listing the available substitutes.
Partick needed to win the game in 90 minutes to earn automatic progression to the next round.
The Steelmen started their league season a week ago with a 0-0 home draw against Ross County.
Rangers vs Motherwell Team News
The only definite absentee for Rangers currently is Nicolas Raskin who is out with an ankle injury. Expect him back in the middle of September.
Philippe Clement's side put a lot into that away European game on Tuesday so the Belgian may opt to rotate some things, especially ahead of the second leg next midweek.
Star summer signing Robin Propper is in line for his debut after arriving from FC Twente.
Motherwell, meanwhile are ravaged by injuries and Shane Blaney, Ross Callachan, Callum Slattery, Harry Paton, Johnny Koutroumbis, Sam Nicholson and Filip Stuparevic are all confirmed absentees or major doubts.
Crucially, Lennon Miller probably won't make it either.
Scoreline Prediction
A squad the size of Motherwell's won't be able to handle so many absences, and even though Rangers will have an eye on Dynamo Kyiv, they should win this easily.
Rangers 3-0 Motherwell
