On an evening upon which Emile Smith-Rowe, Bukayo Saka and Thomas Partey distinguished themselves, the cutting edge was ultimately added by the Gabon striker, who continued his improving form.

After a 7.6 FC Rating against Newcastle in the FA Cup a fortnight ago, he dipped in a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace but earned an 8.6 FC Rating on Monday.

Aubameyang: What Next?
Arsenal have an FA Cup tie on Saturday against an opponent that they do not yet know. Aubameyang may be rested for that game but he will expect to be back for their next Premier League outing with Southampton as they chase the top four.
If the Gunners are to achieve that goal, they need Aubameyang playing at this level.
