Manchester City starlet Phil Foden has been recalled to the England squad, following his omission for the October games.

He returns to the squad that will face the Republic of Ireland, Belgium, and Iceland in the coming weeks and joins the likes of Jack Grealish and Mason Mount in the 29-man squad, with whom he'll be competing against for a place in the starting XI.

Mason Greenwood's second consecutive omission from the squad has nothing to do with the coronavirus protocol breach that occurred in Iceland, along with Foden, according to Southgate, it's down to form.

Yet to register a single Premier League goal or assist this season, it's no great surprise to see that Mason Greenwood won't be travelling to St George's Park with the squad.

James Ward-Prowse's excellent start to the season for Southampton has been rewarded with another call-up, although Harvey Barnes, who was in the October squad, misses out.

Despite being suspended for the Nations League games against Belgium and Iceland, Reece James is also included, but both Danny Ings and Kalvin Phillips miss out through injury.
