Tottenham have announced the return of Gareth Bale on a one-year loan deal and the arrival of Sergio Reguilon on a five-year contract, with both players arriving from Real Madrid.

Bale left London for Spain in 2013 and helped Los Blancos win four Champions League titles, though has been surplus to requirements in his most recent season under Zinedine Zidane and had little chance of featuring in 2020/21.

As such Bale has chosen to return to English football, and it is believed that both Tottenham and Real Madrid will share equally his huge £600k per week salary.

As well as confirming the Bale deal, Tottenham also confirmed that left-back Reguilon has signed a deal until 2025.

The young defender was one of the stars of Sevilla's hugely successful run to the Europa League final in the summer, and the fee for his services is believed to be in the region of £25m, including add-ons.

Bale and Reguilon join Matt Doherty and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as Tottenham's key summer arrivals, as they look to bounce back from a demoralising 1-0 home defeat on the opening day of the season to Everton.
