Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be desperate to claim the all-important point the Premier League side need to qualify for the next round of the Champions League when they face PSG at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.

However, the Man United boss may have to do so without a number of his key players.

As the club still awaits results for a knee scan, it looks as though Solskjaer will have to do without goalkeeper David De Gea and will instead turn to Dean Henderson. United’s defence will also have to make do without the suspended Axel Tuanzebe, along with an injury to Luke Shaw. Alex Telles could be a doubt but is likely to complete a late fitness test.

In midfield Solskjaer will also have to find a way of containing PSG without Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay, who are both still injured. That task may become even more difficult if Donny van de Beek doesn’t recover from a knock he picked up over the weekend, but it’s assumed that he will.

Similarly, United’s forward line will almost certainly have to continue its reliance on Edinson Cavani as Anthony Martial still recovers from an illness he picked up over the weekend.

In contrast, PSG will be looking to go into the match with an improving bill of health as Thomas Tuchel’s side also desperately seek safe passage to the next round.

Not only will the German coach look to call upon Brazilian pair Marquinhos and Neymar for the clash, but also hopes to include Marco Verratti after the Italian midfielder picked up a full hour of football at the weekend.

Mauro Icardi and Pablo Sarabia have both been ruled out along with long-term injuries to Julian Draxler and Juan Bernat. Thilo Kehrer and Layvin Kurzawa both travel but are carrying knocks.
