Newcastle United will face Brighton & Hove Albion in a highly anticipated Premier League clash at St James’ Park this weekend. Both teams have started the season strongly, but Newcastle are aiming to break a three-match winless run, while Brighton come into this game off the back of a thrilling comeback victory against Spurs.

The Magpies will hope to capitalise on home advantage, but they will need to be wary of Brighton’s attacking threat, led by Danny Welbeck and the returning Yankuba Minteh. With both sides targeting European places, this could be a dark horse for one of the best matches of the weekend.

Newcastle United Predicted Lineup

Newcastle have had a mixed run of form recently, but Eddie Howe will look to field a strong side in a bid to secure three crucial points against a fellow European places rival.

The potential return of Alexander Isak could see Anthony Gordon shift back to his preferred wing position. Kieran Trippier, having regained the starting right-back role from Tino Livramento, is expected to start. In midfield, Joelinton will have to be cautious, as a yellow card would see him suspended for the next fixture.

In terms of injuries, Callum Wilson remains a doubt, so Isak's fitness will be key. Harvey Barnes is expected to retain his spot on the left wing, while Bruno Guimarães will look to control the midfield alongside Sandro Tonali.

Brighton head to St James’ Park on a high after their stunning comeback against Tottenham. However, manager Fabian Hürzeler will have to contend with defensive injuries. Adam Webster is a doubt, which could see Igor partner Lewis Dunk in central defence.

On the left, Estupinan is expected to start after replacing Ferdi Kadıoglu at half-time in the comeback win against Spurs.

Up front, Danny Welbeck is in fine form but will hope to improve his record against Newcastle, having only scored once in 16 appearances against them. Yankuba Minteh, a former Newcastle player, will also be eager to impress against his former club.
