Memphis Depay has confirmed that he is aware of interest from Barcelona, but admits he doesn't know about any more developments further than that.

Following Barcelona's exit from the Champions League, head coach Quique Setien was replaced by Ronald Koeman, with the Dutchman tasked with revamping the ageing squad at the Camp Nou.

It appears he is targeting players he has worked with previously, as reported interest in Gini Wijnaldum of Liverpool has been followed up with interest in Memphis, with the pair having worked with Koeman in the Dutch national team set up.

Although no concrete offer has been made for Memphis yet, the player is aware of his admirers in Catalunya.

“We just have to see what will happen. I'll report to [Lyon] tomorrow and we'll see what happens," he told NOS following the Netherlands' 1-0 loss against Italy in the Nations League on Monday evening.

"I haven't heard much more from my agent. I know that there is interest, but I don't have much more to say because I don't know much about it."

Barcelona will looking to bring in a raft of reinforcements this summer after failing to win a trophy for the first time in 12 years in the 2019/20 campaign.

Ivan Rakitic has already been sold, while Luis Suarez and Arturo Vidal are training alone after being told they are no longer part of the club's plans.

Crucially, however, Lionel Messi is set to stay despite announcing his intention to leave two weeks ago.
