On Saturday, Manchester City and Chelsea will face off in a pre-season friendly at Ohio Stadium.

This match will serve as a final warm-up for both teams before they return to England for the new Premier League campaign.

Current Form

Manchester City

Manchester City’s pre-season has been underwhelming as they began with a 4-3 loss to Celtic and followed it with a 3-2 defeat by AC Milan.

Their most recent match ended in a 2-2 draw against Barcelona, which the Catalans won 4-1 on penalties.

Guardiola’s squad has been incomplete due to several key players still fulfilling international duties.

Chelsea

Chelsea's pre-season form has also been inconsistent. They started with a 2-2 draw against Wrexham and a 4-1 defeat by Celtic.

However, they bounced back with a 3-0 victory over Club America, with goals from Nkunku, Guiu, and Madueke.

Team News

Manchester City

City will be without several key players, including Kyle Walker, John Stones, Rodri, Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, and Julian Alvarez, due to international commitments.

Ederson, despite rumours of a move, is expected to start. Erling Haaland will lead the attack, with Grealish, Bobb, and McAtee likely supporting from behind.

Predicted Lineup: Ederson; Lewis, Phillips, Gvardiol, Wilson-Esbrand; O'Reilly, Kovacic; Bobb, McAtee, Grealish; Haaland

Chelsea

Chelsea might see Filip Jorgensen make his full debut after his substitute appearance against Club America.

Enzo Fernandez is expected to come off the bench again, while Chilwell and Fofana will likely start in defense. Guiu should retain his spot in the attack.

Predicted Lineup: Jorgensen; James, Adarabioyo, Fofana, Chilwell; Lavia, Dewsbury-Hall; Madueke, Nkunku, Sterling; Guiu

Prediction

Given Manchester City's incomplete squad and Chelsea's recent form improvement, a tight match is anticipated.

Both teams have shown vulnerabilities in pre-season, making a draw a plausible outcome.

Our Prediction: Manchester City 1-1 Chelsea
