Manchester City claimed a place in the League Cup final as they beat Manchester United 2-0 at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.

John Stones and Fernandinho grabbed the goals for the visitors, who will now take on Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley in April for the trophy.

But who were the standout performers in the contest?

✔️ GOOD PERFORMANCE

John Stones: 8.3

It wasn't that long ago that John Stones' career at Manchester City seemed to be over, but the Englishman has been back to his best in recent weeks.

As well as popping up with a crucial goal, the defender won 4/5 duels, recovered the ball six times, and completed 95% of his passes - 15 of which were fired into the final third.

BAD PERFORMANCE

Bruno Fernandes: 6.3

One man perhaps shouldn't shoulder such responsibility, but the fact remains that if Bruno Fernandes doesn't play well, neither do United.

The Portuguese took four largely speculative shots, failed to create a single big chance, and completed just 73% of his passes on a frustrating night.

STAR MAN

Ruben Dias: 8.4

Stones' recent revival no doubt owes something to the performances of his new partner, who was outstanding once again here.

Ruben Dias won 3/3 tackles, made five recoveries and six clearances, and generally dominated a United frontline that has been in fine form of late.

What a signing.
