Manchester City got back to winning ways in the Premier League in emphatic fashion with a 5-0 drubbing of Burnley on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s side have now beaten Burnley by five goals without reply three times in as many years, as they now look to get their title challenge back on track.

So who were the best and worst performers on both sides?

✔️ GOOD PERFORMANCE

Kevin De Bruyne: 8.4

As is often the case, when Kevin De Bruyne is on form Manchester City tend to be on form and the attacking midfielder was undoubtedly at the top of his game before a startled Burnley side.

The Belgian international was on hand to assist two of Man City’s first four goals on the day and even set up Phil Foden to assist the fifth in a performance that showed that De Bruyne and City still had plenty of firepower to demolish teams in the league this season.

BAD PERFORMANCE

Bailey Peacock-Farrell: 4.2

Burnley goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell looked like a man who wanted the ground to open up and swallow him whole when the ball bounced off him in the 77th minute to make it 6-0 to Manchester City.

VAR came to the keeper’s rescue to rule it offside in the build-up but it was still a gruelling match for the shot-stopper and one he’ll be more than happy to forget all about, after failing to stop City’s onslaught for the duration of the match.

STAR MAN

Riyad Mahrez: 10

While Saturday’s victory was undoubtedly a team performance, the main plaudits will have to go to forward Riyad Mahrez.

The Algerian international has struggled for form for much of the season, with only one goal in six Premier League appearances prior to the Burnley clash. Yet on Saturday he showed exactly what he can do.

Throughout the match Mahrez showed the kind of composure and eye for goal that City tend to lack when Sergio Aguero isn’t on the pitch but for perhaps the first time this season another goal scorer has stepped forward and suggested to Guardiola that he can lead the line.
