Liverpool's injury issues finally caught up with them as they went down 2-0 at home to Atalanta, with Josip Ilicic one of the stars of the show for the Serie A side.

But who were the best and worst performers on both sides?

✔️ GOOD PERFORMANCE

Josip Ilicic: 7.4

Ilicic has only recently returned to the fold for Atalanta after a prolonged spell out but he was excellent as Atalanta took the game to their illustrious opponents.

He was a regular threat throughout the contest and opened the scoring by sliding in at the back post to defeat Alisson, in a match where Atalanta showed exactly what they were capable of.

BAD PERFORMANCE

Divock Origi: 5.4

It's fair to say that Origi will go down in history for Liverpool for what he has achieved for the club, but he's such an obvious downgrade on the strikers ahead of him and it showed once again here.

He achieved just 22 touches in the contest and had no shots whatsoever, and was hooked by Jurgen Klopp after just 61 minutes.

STAR MAN

Liverpool were not the races from an offensive perspective and much of that was down to the sturdy defensive play of Romero, who was outstanding for the visitors.

Romero, as well as helping his side to a clean sheet, won all 3/3 of his aerial duels, and 5/8 of his ground duels, as well as making a huge nine clearances. He also made three interceptions and nine recoveries in a very accomplished display.
