Bailey's performance was impactful in the moments where it needed to be. He didn't get overly involved or control the contest, but when the match needed him to get involved, his impact was huge.

⏱️ 4' After just four minutes he struck a contender for goal of the season, involved in a short corner on the right before swerving a quite brilliant curling shot across the goalkeeper and into the opposite top corner.

⏱️ 27' Bailey was oozing confidence at this stage and his mazy run took him one-on-one with the goalkeeper, allowing him to calmly walk around him and slot into the empty net to double the lead.

Overall Bailey had four shots, three on target and two goals, and Leverkusen will be delighted that after the loss of Kai Havertz, Bailey has re-emerged as a key part of their starting XI again.

Bailey: What Next?

The Jamaican had a distinct off-season in 2019/20 but has returned with real style in this campaign, showing Leverkusen, and indeed the watching scouts of Europe, what he is capable of once again. Expect more to come from a player who has been around for a while, but is still only 23.
