Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is set to rotate his starting XI for Monday's Premier League match against Aston Villa, following the disappointing defeat away at Arsenal.

In a London derby versus the Gunners on Saturday, Chelsea were uninspiring, succumbing to their third loss out of the past four matches.

Lampard was unhappy with his players following the 3-1 result, and the performance combined with the lack of preparation time between games means that some players will be rested.

Hakim Ziyech missed the Arsenal game due to a hamstring injury, and although he is getting closer to full fitness, it is unlikely he'll be thrown in from the start.

In the roles behind the striker, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Kai Havertz are pushing for a start after being left on the bench on Saturday.

Olivier Giroud will also be looking to be recalled to the starting XI, potentially at the expense of Tammy Abraham, who scored a late consolation goal versus Arsenal.

It is likely that Timo Werner will be rested, or dropped, depending on your perspective, following a period of unproductive form.

Mateo Kovacic was replaced at half-time at the weekend, so expect Jorginho to start this one alongside N'Golo Kante in midfield.

Both Ben Chilwell and Reece James were fitness doubts before the Arsenal game, only to be deemed fit enough to start. It might be too much to ask for them to play twice in the space of three days, however.

That will mean recalls for Cesar Azpilicueta and Emerson Palmieri.
