La Liga Team of the Week: Aspas shines brightest for Celta

A goal and two assists from the Spain striker helped secure victory for Celta over Alaves on Sunday

Former Liverpool striker Iago Aspas helped Celta Vigo maintain their push for a Europa League spot by scoring once and assisting twice in their 3-1 win at Alaves.

Aspas (9.3) now has 10 goals and assists for the season in 25 games and made the difference in what was just Celta’s second win in their last six games.

Joining him in attack is Gerard Moreno (8.9), the Villarreal striker who scored a hat-trick against Granada to help the Yellow Submarine keep pace with Real Betis in fifth place.

Aspas’ teammate Nolito (8.0) finds himself on the left this week, after scoring and assisting in the win at Alaves. Impressively, he also created two big chances in the game.

On the opposite flank, we have Rafa Mir (8.0), who netted a timely brace to boost Huesca’s survival hopes against midtable Levante.

Casemiro (8.2) grabbed an assist as Real Madrid eased past Eibar on Saturday. The Brazilian marshalled the midfield well, too, winning seven of his 13 duels.

Alongside him is Sevilla's Fernando (8.0), who won 100% of his tackles as his side rallied to a 1-0 win over league leaders Atletico Madrid.

Team-mate Marcos Acuna (7.5) is at left-back after scoring the winner in that game, while also recording an impressive six ball recoveries.

Switching flanks, Real Madrid’s Eder Militao (7.9) put in a fine display against Eibar, winning 80% of his duels at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano.

Nacho (7.6) was solid for Los Blancos at centre back, making no fewer than seven clearances.

He is partnered by Osasuna’s David Garcia (8.0), who won a staggering 17 tackles as his side kept a clean sheet against Getafe.

Despite a late defeat at Barcelona, Real Valladolid goalkeeper Masip (8.0) was in fine form against his former club, making 16 ball recoveries.
